What is Freshy? Freshy is a replacement reminder app for household essentials. You add the items that wear out on a cycle, Freshy counts down each one, gives your home a single Freshness Score from 0 to 100, and reminds you a few days before anything is due. The Freshness Score
One number for the state of your home.
The score is the average remaining life across everything you track. It drops as items age and jumps back the moment you log a replacement, which makes maintenance feel like progress instead of a chore list.

How often should I replace a toothbrush head?

Does Freshy need an account?
No. There is no sign in and no profile. Your inventory, reminder schedule and log stay on your device.
Will it work without notifications?
Yes, the countdowns still update in the app. Reminders are what make it effortless, so the app asks once during onboarding, on the page that explains them.

How does Freshy decide the replacement interval for something like a water filter or an HVAC filter, and can I overrule it?
Every built in category ships with a recommended cycle taken from manufacturer ratings where they exist and from published health or safety guidance where they do not. A water pitcher filter starts at 60 days, an HVAC filter at 90 days, a kitchen sponge at 14 days. That number is then multiplied by your usage intensity, so a 90 day filter becomes about 63 days on heavy use and about 117 days on light use. If your situation is unusual, you can set a custom cycle in Freshy Plus and the recommendation steps out of the way for that item.
What exactly does usage intensity change, and how do I know whether my household counts as heavy use?
Intensity is a single multiplier on the cycle length: light is 1.3, normal is 1.0, heavy is 0.7. Treat it as heavy use if any one of these is true: hard water, pets, allergies or asthma, a shared bathroom with three or more people, or a home in a dusty area. One factor is enough to move an item down a band, and you set it per item rather than for the whole house, which matters when one bathroom is busy and another is not.
If I have not tracked anything before, how do I get started without spending an afternoon entering data?
Start with the three items that would annoy you most if they were late. For most households that is the toothbrush heads, the water filter and the air filter. Each one takes about twenty seconds: pick the category, pick the room, and tell Freshy roughly when the current one went in. You can backdate the start to a week, a month or three months ago, so an accurate countdown appears immediately rather than starting from zero.
What happens if I ignore a reminder, snooze it, or replace something without logging it?
Nothing breaks, and nothing nags. An overdue item keeps counting and stays at the top of the dashboard so the state is honest rather than hidden. Snoozing pushes the countdown out by three, seven or fourteen days without changing the cycle length. If you replaced something and forgot to log it, log it now and the countdown starts again.
How does Freshy calculate the sustainability numbers, and should I trust them?
Treat them as an order of magnitude estimate, not a measurement. Each category carries an average material weight and a manufacturing footprint drawn from published figures, and Freshy multiplies those by your logged replacements, entirely on your device. The absolute grams are indicative, but the direction and the trend over a year are meaningful.
What happens to my data if I change phone or delete the app?
There is no account and no server copy of your household. Your inventory, reminder schedule and log live on the device, and deleting the app deletes them. Freshy Plus can export a CSV of every item and every logged swap, which is the record to keep before you switch phones. Freshy cannot import that file back yet.
